At Flicker & Twinkle, every scent starts with intention. Born in a home studio in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, our candles, perfumes, soaps, and home fragrances are crafted for people who crave luxury without the $100+ price tag.
I started this business because I was tired of perfumes and candles that all smelled the same—sickly sweet, overly floral, or chemical-heavy. As someone who suffers from migraines (and who refuses to fill my home with soot or toxins), I wanted products that were clean-burning, beautifully fragrant, safe for my kids, and made with high-quality ingredients.
When I couldn’t find them, I spent two years testing wax blends — building on over five years of experience working with coconut-soy and beeswax blends — until I created a version that was balanced, clean, and performed beautifully.
At Flicker & Twinkle, fragrance is designed to feel good in every way. Every candle and fragrance is paraffin-free, phthalate-free, and poured in small batches in my home studio in Chelmsford, Massachusetts. I believe in balance — sweet should have salt, spice needs warmth, and citrus shines when it’s cooled by something fresh. Each custom blend is made to feel modern, elevated, and unique.
I’m Renee, founder of Flicker & Twinkle — and mom of three. This business has grown right alongside my family. My first candle batches came before my youngest was born, and colic delayed things a bit, but now that the kids are in school I’ve been able to pour more time (and love) into building this brand.
I’m also the kind of girl who bakes sourdough from scratch (before it was trendy) and who always keeps a garden (even if it’s neglected while I’m pouring candles). With degrees in both Art and Nursing, I’ve always lived in the overlap of creativity and science. Flicker & Twinkle is where they finally come together.
Flicker & Twinkle isn’t just another candle company — it’s personal. Every product is poured with intention, tested with patience, and designed with balance in mind. What makes us different is simple: our products deliver affordable luxury without compromise. The packaging has been streamlined so we can now say “yes” to wholesale orders, and every new scent is inspired by real people and real conversations. Customers asking for patchouli inspired The Coastal Bohemian. Holiday favorites like Trim the Tree grew into new creations like Kancamagus Highway.
Everything we make has a piece of my story and my love for fragrance in it.
